Date formatting guidelines
Select one of the date options from the appropriate pop-up menu to specify how a date will be used in the search.
All options which use the date entered in the field require a valid date string with optional time string (separated from the date string by a comma), or time string.
If a date field contains and invalid entry when the search is initiated, File Buddy will display a message containing examples of valid entries based on your date and time format settings in use on your computer.
A week is 12:00 am Sunday morning to 11:59:59 pm Saturday night, and a month is 12:00 am on the first day of the month to 11:59:59 pm on the last day of the month.
Created/Modified/Accessed since Tuesday…
Items containing the days of the week will vary depending on the current day of the week, and represent a fixed number of days in the past. For example, on Tuesday, the item would be equivalent to ”Modified after 2 days ago,” and so on. If you have the Find window open at midnight, the text in these menu items will change. If you change dates using system preferences, close the Find window and reopen it to update the menus in the date pop-ups.
During a time frame
The , , and options do not use all of the date information, but still require a valid date as described above to be entered. The search uses the day, week or month containing the specified date. For example, using the during month of option, “1/3/02” and “1/23/02, 1:10:34 am” would both result in the same search.
Hidden date field
If one or both date text boxes are hidden it means the current date mode will automatically calculate the appropriate dates to conduct the desired search.
